About the Project
The Iraq Pavilion as a celebration of the past, present, and future of Baghdad.

Inspired by the ancient architectural principles of Mesopotamia, the pavilion integrates symbolic references to the four great empires that defined the region's legacy: Sumer, Akkad, Babylon, and Assyria.

Each empire's contributions - conceptualised as strength, advancement, agriculture, and the invention of the Sumerian alphabet - form the conceptual foundations of our design.

This architectural endeavour serves as a platform for cultural exchange.

Our pavilion's form and landscape are drawn from historical Mesopotamian patterns, ratios, and proportions that shaped the layout of palaces, temples, and other significant structures in Sumer, Akkad, and Assur.
